Prospect Hill Invasives
Dummerston Conservation Committee members along with representatives from several local groups (Putney Mountain Association, Prospect Hill trustees, and West River Trail) came together to clear an overwhelming amount of invasives from Prospect Hill. In total, 9 representatives were present. With a cool overcast day, we were able to get a lot of work done and still enjoyed the view from atop the hill. As suspected from previous assessments, removal of previously cut plants was challenging because they had many thinner stems and vigorous root systems. We used shovels, weed wrenches, mattocks, you name it. A great group and a fun morning. Thanks so much to everyone that came, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in keeping this area clear and cared for.
