Grassland Bird Management
Grassland Bird Management
Wednesday, May 13
8:30am
Join VT Coverts as we host Liza Morse and Kevin Tolan, the Grassland Bird Outreach team from the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, to learn how to manage your property for grassland birds. Grassland birds are undergoing the most drastic decline of any bird community in the continental United States. While Vermont is a largely forested state, there are opportunities for landowners with open land to support select grassland bird species on their property. Liza and Kevin will discuss the ecology of these species and address habitat management strategies through landowner case studies. Come learn about about grassland bird ecology, population trends, and habitat management. Be sure to bring your questions about managing grassland bird habitat on your own property.
